It’s like a key
I need to carry when I run
Or I won’t be able to open the door
when I come home.
I tuck it inside my socks
and I try not to worry about
I don’t hold it in my palm
but my skin feels the edges around
You are that key on an old chain
I need to tuck inside my socks
The key that opens that bolted door
A place I don’t want to come to anymore.
